The Zlatan Ibrahimovic factor is something that could push AC Milan to seriously evaluate a concrete attempt for Marcus Rashford, a report claims.
According to Calciomercato.com, Rashford is a player who – due to his characteristics – represents the ‘ideal prototype’ of what Milan is looking for in the January window. He plays mainly on the left, he has also done very well as a striker and can be used on the right, making him versatile.
What filters from the club is that nobody inside Milan are criticising the signing of Alvaro Morata nor his performances. The Spaniard’s commitment and professionalism is exemplary, and he is important in the dressing room, but both he and Tammy Abraham are not scoring regularly.
Ibrahimovic was a team-mate of a very young Rashford at Manchester United and he took him under his wing. Seven years later the paths could reunite at Milan, because talks have established the possibility of getting him on loan with part of the salary paid.
The Swede ‘leaves a small door open for Marcus Rashford’ and while it is ‘a difficult path’ it is ‘not completely impossible’. Rashford has also been offered to Napoli, Juventus and Inter, while several Saudi teams are also on his trail, but they do not seem to find any openings from the player.
United do not want to strengthen a direct competitor in the Premier League and this is certainly a point in Milan’s favour. From Tuesday when they return from the Supercoppa Italiana trip, Milan will start to work more on the market and will seek clearer details from the Red Devils.
