AC Milan ended the January transfer window having signed only Devis Vasquez as a third-choice goalkeeper, before the failed pursuits of several attacking stars.

As has been outlined by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri had an unusual and largely unsuccessful transfer window in January 2023.

Vasquez from Guarani is the only player who joined but that has no bearing on the first team this season. Many feel that Guillermo Ochoa should have been signed instead in order to replace Ciprian Tatarusanu whilst Mike Maignan is injured. He is now at Salernitana.

The two players in attack that Milan appeared the most serious about signing were Nicolo Zaniolo from AS Roma and Dario Osorio who is a Chilean youngster.

For both of those players, Milan were not able to stump up enough cash to make the deals work, meaning Stefano Pioli must work with what he has in place, a team that is badly out of form.
