Giorgio Furlano and Igli Tare spoke at length during a discussion in Rome on Tuesday, and it has emerged that they agree on the head coach.

Calciomercato.com report that it was an ‘important meeting’ between the CEO and Tare, who is the ‘big favourite’ to take the director role. The chat lasted about three hours but has not yet led to an agreement on the contract, with the Albanian wanting three years and the Rossoneri two.

Furlani would like to evaluate other candidates but the simplest and quickest solution leads to Tare given that he is not currently under contract elsewhere. The ex-Lazio man can therefore begin planning immediately, with big issues to address such as the head coach.

In the meeting, Furlani also reiterated to Tare that he wants to have a say in the decision regarding who will replace Sergio Conceicao, and not just from an economic point of view. If Tare is actually appointed, the chances of a return for Massimiliano Allegri would rise sharply.

The former Milan coach is also the first choice for Furlani and the owner of RedBird Capitaly, Gerry Cardinale. This point of convergence between all parties will soon lead to the opening of a concrete negotiation with Allegri.
