There has been a lot of talk about Strahinja Pavlovic leaving AC Milan in recent days, but things might change after his impressive recent starts.
As Calciomercato.com report, Pavlovic started in the last Champions League match against Girona and Sergio Conceicao decided to keep him in the team for the game against Parma, his first league start since the end of November.
The choice is probably linked to rotation, with the idea of resting Fikayo Tomori for the away match in Zagreb against Dinao on Wednesday 29 January. By fielding Pavlovic as a starter against Parma, Conceiçao also sends a message to the market too that he is important for him.
The club most interested in the Serbian defender are Stuttgart, who are offering a figure of around €15-16m, but it is not enough to convince Milan. Under these conditions, the player will remain and if offers higher than €20m arrive, they will evaluate what to do.
As he confirmed after the game, Pavlovic’s desire is to stay with the Rossoneri and earn the trust of the coach and the club on the field, demonstrating that they can rely on him in the second part of the season.
Conceiçao, for his part, would be happy to keep him. The Portuguese has not rejected Pavlovic and if he were to stay he would be ready to send him onto the pitch when necessary, especially if he pops up with a penalty won and an assist, like today.
