Theo Hernandez is focused on ending his season with AC Milan in the best possible way, but in the meantime there is speculation circling regarding his future beyond the current campaign.

According to what is being reported by Calciomercato.com, when the curtain is drawn on the season Theo and his agent take a general look at the situation with the Milan management to understand the plans for next season.

Theo feels great at Milan, his bond with the club and fans has become stronger as the years have passed and having the captain’s armband has increased the level of leadership and the sense of belonging that he feels too.

With five goals and 10 assists to his name across all competitions so far in 2023-24, Theo knows he is in an elite group when it comes to full-back. The Rossoneri know it too, and want to recognise it with a renewal.

Their plan is to extend Hernandez’s contract by trying to further improve the current salary of €4.5m net per season plus bonuses, though there is no rush because the current agreement expires in 2026 and there is plenty of time.

A player of Theo’s level – which is probably the best left-back in the world – means that he is attracting interest from abroad. Saudi clubs have come forward but the 26-year-old does not seem interested in offers from Arabia.

The only real threat is represented by Bayern Munich, especially if the Bavarians had to say goodbye to Alphonso Davies who is wanted by Real Madrid.

For Milan, Theo is worth more than €90m and the renewal is a priority. An appointment is set for the end of the season, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will speak with his friend to try help matters.
