The AC Milan squad resumed training at Milanello yesterday after being given four days off by head coach Paulo Fonseca, and all eyes are on Alvaro Morata’s condition in view of some big games to come.

As Calciomercato.com report, the squad met at the training complex yesterday to begin preparing for Saturday night’s match, while waiting for all the players who are on international duty to return over the next couple of days.

Morata though was at Milanello even during the off days as he continues to work on recovering from a low-grade injury to the biceps femoris, just as Malick Thiaw is recovering from a sprained ankle. The pair have been doing individual work on the field, with a view to returning to full training soon.

The aim for the Spaniard is to be ready for the match against Venezia at San Siro on Saturday night. If he isn’t at 100%, then no risks will be taken and there is the possibility he might just play a portion of the game.

This is fairly obvious given that Milan will face Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday 17 September and then the derby against Inter will take place on Sunday 22 September. Meanwhile, Tammy Abraham showed instantly against Lazio why he can be trusted to fill in.
