AC Milan’s plans have not changed regarding their desire to sign a striker this month despite the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb, a report claims.

As Calciomercato.com write, dropping into the play-off places will cost Milan a lot both in economic terms (with at least €15m less in revenues) and in terms of their path in the competition, which is now a lot more difficult.

Nonetheless, the first point on the agenda of Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada concerns Santiago Gimenez. The directors are already in contact with agent Rafaela Pimenta to understand the extent of the injury suffered by the Mexican striker, who left the field in the 28th minute last night.

Milan’s idea is to offer Feyenoord €31-32m as a fixed figure plus bonuses to get to €37-38m plus a 10% future resale clause, but first they need reassurances on the status of the injury Gimenez sustained during their 6-1 thrashing by Lille.

It cannot be ruled out that the Rossoneri will also evaluate alternative situations, perhaps with a loan formula, to postpone the move until the summer. The focus for the time being though remains the 23-year-old, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic insisting last night’s result would not change the plans.

Meanwhile, Noah Okafor has been offered to various clubs in Germany and England, as has Luka Jovic, while Samuel Chukwueze has said that he wants to stay. An attempt will be made for Samuele Ricci, probably on loan with an obligation to buy, but Torino are unlikely to let him go.
