AC Milan had troubles in front of goal for the second game in a row on Sunday, something which has not happened since the beginning of 2020.

As Calciomercato.com reports, Milan scored zero goals against Spezia last Saturday, and zero against Inter in Sunday’s derby defeat. The Rossoneri suffered two consecutive defeats in the league for the first time since the beginning of November 2019, when Milan lost first against Lazio and then against Juventus.

To find two games in a row without a goal, however, you have to go back to the end of 2019 and the beginning of 2020 when Pioli’s man in fact failed to score in three games in a row against Sassuolo, Atalanta and Sampdoria, but two points still arrived as there were 0-0 draws either side of the 5-0 mauling by Atalanta.

Ibrahimovic found an inspired Handanovic in the derby, but the double zero remains and it had never happened since Ibra’s return to the club. The one piece of positive news it that from those three games without a goal early in 2020 emerged an incredible run of form.
