AC Milan are looking into potential replacements for Rade Krunic and one of the names on their list currently plays at Monaco, a report claims.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, after the arrival of the American Yunus Musah from Valencia, Milan had shifted their attention to attack and defence, but the possible departure of Krunic could change things.

The Bosnian already has an agreement in principle with Fenerbahçe over personal terms and he is fundamental for Stefano Pioli’s plans. Thus, a replacement would be needed of similar reliability.

Nicolas Dominguez of Bologna and Youssouf Fofana of Monaco are two highlighted targets, the latter having been in Geoffrey Moncada’s notebook since his time at Strasbourg.

Fofana’s future is all to be decided. He joined Monaco in January 2020 and has a deal expiring in 2024 (with an option until 2025 that Monaco can exercise), but he could leave by the end of the summer considering they will not play in Europe.

Monaco paid €15m and now believe he is worth over €20m. There was strong interest in him from West Ham, who then chose to bet on Edson Alvarez of Ajax. He is now also a target for Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain.
