CM: Milan have Lille and Real Betis duo in mind to fix two gaps in squad

There are two gaps in the squad that AC Milan did not fully address during the summer transfer window, but the thoughts of the management are already on the future.

As Calciomercato.com reports, the Mehdi Taremi negotiation looked to be heading towards completion but then fell apart late in the mercato because his demands for personal terms changed. Although the agreement with Porto was found, the difference with the striker and his entourage was irreconcilable.

Milan did not give up on the idea of signing a centre-forward though and quickly managed to bring in Luka Jovic, who joined on a free transfer despite netting 13 goals across all competitions for Fiorentina last season with a few of them being off the bench.

Jovic could yet prove to be a brilliant gamble, but Geoffrey Moncada and his team are focusing on Jonathan David for the future, who continues to be linked with a number of top clubs around Europe.

His contract expires in 2025 and – in the absence of a contract renewal with Lille – the Canada international’s price tag would drop into a region that the Rossoneri could realistically pay.

Then, there was no left-back signing. Fode Ballo-Touré rejected several proposals which prevented the Rossoneri from closing for Riccardo Calafiori, who chose Bologna.

Therefore for the moment Alessandro Florenzi, Pierre Kalulu and Davide Bartesaghi seem to be the alternatives to the undisputed starter Theo Hernandez, while Davide Calabria could also shift across.

There is already a target in mind for the role: Juan Miranda of Real Betis. The 23-year-old is a profile that has already been scouted in recent weeks but Ballo-Touré’s situation prevented a concrete move. A new attempt will now be possible in January.
