Further confirmation has arrived stating that Mike Maignan and Tijjani Reijnders are close to extending their contracts with AC Milan.
As Calciomercato.com report, Milan celebrates 125 years since the club was founded tonight against Genoa and also the imminent renewals of two key players for Paulo Fonseca: Reijnders and Maignan. It is expected that a full agreement will arrive in a few days.
This is important news because there had been a number of reports suggesting that the Dutch midfielder and the French goalkeeper were attracting interest from some top clubs abroad, but this will bind them to the Milan project.
Matteo Gabbia began what should be a trio of renewals when he extended his contract until 2029 a few weeks ago, now Milan is working on the announcement of two more while waiting for developments on Theo Hernandez.
Both for Maignan and for Reijnders the benefits of the Growth Decree remain intact and continue to apply (until the expiry date provided by law), because the regulations currently dictate that they remain even for renewals of players that already enjoyed the benefits.
The agreement for Reijnders is until 2029 with a substantial salary adjustment that will go from the current €1.7m to €3.5m net per season plus bonuses linked to personal and team objectives. Maignan meanwhile will sign until the same deadline, but going up to €5m per year plus bonuses.
