AC Milan will have had an eye on the performance of Hakim Ziyech during Morocco’s shock 2-0 win over Belgium this afternoon.

Calciomercato.com report that Ziyech was ‘the most classy player in the Moroccan team’, bringing quality to a dynamic and physically strong team. The Chelsea man assisted Aboukhlal who sealed the win with the second goal, also rekindling the spotlight on him in view of the January transfer market.

Ziyech is after redemption redemption following the complicated few months he has had at Chelsea, with just five Premier League appearances since the start of the season, amassing no goals or assists. Not even a change of coach from Thomas Tuchel to Graham Potter has helped his fortunes so a solution is sought as early as January.

Milan tried to sign him in the summer but Chelsea were not open to a loan formula, with a large chunk of the available budget going on Charles De Ketelaere. The Belgian came on in the second half of the game against Morocco, without being able to make an impact.

On a technical level, the signing of De Ketelaere did not exclude the signing of Ziyech, but the accounts prevented Milan from making a double swoop. In January, however, the Ziyech track can be rekindled because Milan have never given up hope.
