Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad have shown a serious interest in signing Ismael Bennacer from AC Milan and that could mean a reunion with Stefano Pioli.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Milan may be set to make some money from selling the Algerian midfielder and he may soon be working with former Rossoneri coach, Pioli, who is poised to take over at Al Ittihad.

He will be taking the job of Marcelo Gallardo and could be set to earn €15m per season in the Middle East.

Bennacer was a key part of the team roughly one year ago but a serious injury and then an underwhelming return to the team has changed the situation and Milan would be willing to sell him for the right price and the player is open to leaving.

Bennacer is under contract with Milan until June 2027 and has got a €50m release clause. The feeling is that Milan would be willing to negotiate a deal that sees him move for less than €50m.

He currently earns €4m per season at Milan and as shown by Pioli’s potential contract, he would be able to get a lot more than that in Saudi Arabia. The move would certainly give Milan some more financial freedom in the summer market.
