With the 2025 Club World Cup having just wrapped up in the United States, we already know the first four teams to qualify for the next edition in 2029.
Four years ahead of the next Club World Cup, four clubs have already punched their tickets for this global football showcase. PSG, runners-up in the 2025 edition, are guaranteed a spot in the tournament.
As reported by RMC Sport, PSG secured their place at the 2029 Club World Cup thanks to their UEFA Champions League triumph. Similarly, the next three Champions League winners (2026, 2027, 2028) will automatically qualify. Europe will be represented by 12 clubs, with places distributed based on Champions League victories and UEFA rankings over a four-year span. However, FIFA limits the number of clubs per country to two, except for special cases such as Brazil this year.
Other teams have also secured their participation. Al-Ahli, champions of Asia through their AFC Champions League triumph, will represent the Asian zone, while Pyramids FC, winners of the CAF Champions League, will fly the flag for Africa. For the Concacaf region, Mexican side Cruz Azul clinched their spot with a victory in the Concacaf Champions Cup.
The Conmebol zone (South America) will determine its qualifiers via the next four Copa Libertadores winners, with two additional spots awarded based on a specific ranking. Oceania will have a single representative, and one last berth will be granted later by FIFA, with the selection process yet to be clarified.
As for the host country for the 2029 edition, it has yet to be announced.
