Shelbourne FC can confirm we have identified the individual responsible for throwing a pyrotechnic onto the pitch during our recent game against St Patrick’s Athletic. This individual has been issued with a lifetime ban from Tolka Park.

As a club, we uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards any behaviour that endangers the safety of players, officials, and fellow supporters.

In line with this commitment and increasingly severe sanctions being issued by the FAI’s Disciplinary Control Unit, which include escalating fines and bans on away supporters, which we received for our game with Galway United.

We have also been put on notice that further incidences of pyro use at our games or objects being thrown onto the pitch will lead to closure of home stand(s) at Tolka Park, full ground closures for a home game or games, and possible points deductions. We take these warnings seriously and will continue to enforce strict measures to ensure the safety of our supporters, players and officials.

We sincerely thank the supporters who assisted on the night and in recent days to identify the individual responsible.

It is important to note that the actions of one individual among 1,000 Shelbourne supporters at Richmond Park on Monday should not reflect negatively on the vast majority of Reds who travel around Ireland and represent Shelbourne FC with pride and are a credit to the club.
