Somehow, someway, Renato Ibarra’s professional future is still up in the air since his situation has not been resolved.
The player, who still belongs to América, will likely leave the team and some Liga MX teams would be willing to add him to their ranks despite the controversy that surrounds him.
There are few doubts over how talented the player is, which, despite América describing his actions as unacceptable, Miguel Herrera has hinted that the attacker could return to play next season.
Now, León have given the Ecuadorian a potential exit route. León sporting director Rodrigo Fernández has revealed that the club would be willing to accept Ibarra with open arms.
“He is a good player who would strengthen the team,” he told W Deportes. “The other issues are separate.
“If it is an exchange and our conditions are met, we are open to negotiations.”
Earlier this year, the Eagles attacker was accused by his partner of domestic violence. Shortly after the authorities investigated the case, in a 180-degree turn, the charges were dropped against him and Ibarra avoided any jail time.
