Following Mohamed Elneny’s emotional farewell to Arsenal, the Egyptian midfielder has emerged as a transfer target for Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Elneny, who previously enjoyed a successful loan spell at Beşiktaş, could be set for a return to the Süper Lig under the management of Okan Buruk.

Turkish club Galatasaray has expressed interest in signing former Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny, according to reports from A Spor. The Turkish outlet suggests that Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk is keen on bringing the Egyptian international back to the Süper Lig. Elneny previously had a successful loan spell at Beşiktaş, another Turkish club, where he made 36 appearances and contributed one goal and four assists.

Elneny’s departure from Arsenal was recently confirmed by the player himself in a heartfelt message on social media. “Gooners, I’m here today to send you a message,” Elneny said. “To say goodbye, and thank you for everything you’ve done for me. The love, the support, and the kindness. I’m really going to miss you so much, and you will be in my heart forever, and I wanted to say how much I love you, and how much you mean to me. I will never forget the way you support me.”

The 31-year-old midfielder’s exit from Arsenal was anticipated, as he struggled for playing time this season, making only a few appearances in cup competitions. Despite his limited role under Mikel Arteta, Elneny leaves Arsenal with 161 appearances over eight-and-a-half years, having joined the club during Arsène Wenger‘s tenure.

Known for his positive attitude and commitment on the pitch, Elneny will now embark on a new chapter in his career, leaving Arsenal with an FA Cup trophy and two Community Shields.
