Kevin Sauvage has revealed that Club Brugge midfielder Casper Nielsen could leave the club this summer. The Danish central midfielder is keen on a move to Standard Liege, who are currently discussing personal terms with the 31-year-old. An agreement is expected to be reached soon, while both clubs are also actively engaged in discussions regarding a permanent move for Nielsen. However, Standard are not in a great financial position, so will have to strike a hard bargain with Club.

Nielsen joined Club back in the summer of 2022 after three successful seasons with Union St Gilloise. Prior to his move to Belgium, the midfielder had played for his local side Esbjerg fB from 2013-2017. During that time he played 103 games for the side, scoring three goals. He then moved to another Danish side, Odense, where he spent just under two seasons. After seven goals in 77 games he moved to then second division side Union. Nielsen was a key factor in their rise to the Pro League and challenge for the title during the 2021/2022 campaign. After 19 goals in 99 games he joined Club. During his time with the Brugge outfit he has scored 14 goals in 125 games and won the Pro League title in 2024. He was also part of the that lifted the domestic cup this past season.
