Two inform sides are set to go head to head on Thursday night in the Pro League. Club Brugge’s 5-0 win over Gent propelled them to the top of the Pro League, while Union St Gilloise are just two points behind them following their huge win over Genk last weekend. Club, as a result of their own victory over Genk two match days ago, now have the path to title number 20 in their own hands. Union, who have for the past few seasons been the side on top going into the play-offs, are now playing hunters. The role reversal seems to suit them, but Club Brugge will be a tough nut to crack.

During the sides first two meetings in the regular season they shared the points. The first meeting, in Brugge in October, finished 1-1, while the second game in Brussels finished 2-2. A repeat of those results would certainly suit Club Brugge in the hunt for the title. The sides face each other in back to back games, with the results likely going a long way to determine who will win the title. For Genk, this presents a great opportunity to recover their place at the top of the table, if they can take advantage of any slip ups.
