La Voix du Nord report that several individuals identified as Club Brugge ultras were in the Bollaert-Delelis stadium for the Lens-Lille derby this weekend which saw confrontations between the two sets of fans and a pitch invasion.

The supporters in question had found themselves at the bottom of the away end, where many of the incidents took place. Lens have announced that they would file a complaint over the behaviour of the away supporters, as well as sanctioning their own supporters, as a result of the pitch invasion but also the provocative tifo in the build-up to the game.

The LFP, the governing body of French football’s two professional leagues, announced its temporary sanctions yesterday – Lens will play their next two home games behind closed doors, while Lille fans will not be able to travel for their match against Strasbourg. A definite decision will be taken on October 6, at the close of an investigation.
