Club Brugge have filled their back-up goalkeeping vacancy with OH Leuven’s Nordin Jackers. The former SK Beveren keeper has joined on loan for the season without a purchase option. Jackers had been the second option for OHL over the course of the 2022/2023 season and now looks set to be the next in line should Simon Mignolet get injured.

The 25-year-old Belgian shot stopper began his career with Genk, where he made 14 appearances before joining Beveren on loan for the 2019/2020 season. He then joined permanently for two seasons, being part of the side that were relegated from the Belgian Pro League. Jackers impressed during his time at Beveren, earning a move to OHL in the summer of 2022. However, he has been behind first choice Valentin Cojocaru of Romania since he arrived.

It is an interesting move for the young goalkeeper, who, one would imagine, would have been looking for first team football to rejuvenate his career after time on the bench.

Club Brugge have been searching for a second keeper since Senne Lammens left to join Antwerp on a free.
