Club Brugge have set their sights on Sheffield United’s Sander Berge in their efforts to improve their midfield, but would have to pay a club-record fee to secure his services.

The club have made a poor start to the season, winning just one of their first three matches, and clearly need to improve their squad before the end of the transfer window.

On the bright side, following the departure of Charles De Ketelaere, they have the money to do just that, and according to Het Laatste Nieuws, have identified Berge as a target.

The midfielder played in Belgium for three years after joining Genk in 2017 and became one of the Pro League’s best players, so signing him would be a real coup for the club.

Doing so won’t be cheap though with HLN reporting that Sheffield United would not let him go for anything less than €15 million.
