After underwhelming performances in both Liga MX and the Concacaf Champions League, Club América have decided to part ways with manager Miguel Herrera.
The decision comes just two days after América were beaten 3-1 by Major League Soccer’s LAFC, a match where they were up both a goal and a man at half-time.
In addition, Herrera himself was sent off at the half, being forced to watch from the stands as his side absolutely crumbled in the final 45 minutes.
Miguel Herrera was appointed for the second time back in July 2017 and, once again, helped guide América to the post-season in every single season in charge.
Piojo finishes his second stint with América with a record of 87 wins, 45 defeats, and 43 draws in 175 games, winning the 2018 Apertura as well as the Copa MX Clausura and Campeón de Campeones in 2019.
