On Tuesday, as rumoured yesterday, América announced the signing of Xolos centre-back Jordan Silva.

The two-time Mexico international joins on loan for the entirety of the 2021 Guard1anes campaign.

Silva joined Xolos from Cruz Azul via the draft in summer 2019 but has only made 20 Liga MX appearances since his arrival.

However, the Tijuana-based club have made it clear that they see leadership potential in Silva, making the 26-year-old captain for a large percentage of their run to last year’s Copa MX final.

América will now have five centre-backs at their disposal, considering that Bruno Valdéz will return within the next month.
