Massimiliano Allegri, a manager out of work, is said to be on Arsenal’s head coach shortlist even though he didn’t impress at his interview before they hired Unai Emery.

Then again, the Spaniard did impress and look how that turned out…

Tuttojuve report that their former manager met with Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis and Giovani Galeone, who is said to be very close friends with Allegri.

It was Galeone who then revealed details of their meeting to Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli. He said, “The relationship between the former Juventus coach and De Laurentiis? We were in Milan in a famous restaurant, and at dinner there was the president with Allegri, but the intention of the technician is to go and train abroad. To question Ancelotti does not exist.”

In other words, Napoli have no problem with Carlo Ancelotti and, even if they did. Allegri wouldn’t be an option as he wants to move abroad.

Of course, the Arsenal job isn’t the only one likely to be available. Bayern Munich are also seeking to fill a vacancy and that’s hardly a close call to make if it comes down to a straight choice between the two for the Italian.

Arsenal are said to consider Allegri the best choice to fix their leaky defence but the 52-year-old is said to have reservations of his own about the club.
