Clermont Foot’s draw against Montpellier HSC last weekend puts the club in a precarious position with only five games left in the season. The club are not mathematically down but at the foot of the table with only two wins in their last eighteen games, it feels as if the drop is calling.
Despite this, the strange management team of Pascal Gastien and his assistant slash successor Sébastien Bichard will only make one change from last weekend’s draw as they take on RC Lens. Maximiliano Caufriez will come into the defence instead of Mehdi Zeffane.
Caufriez has been on the edge of the first team since he had a bust-up with his manager ahead of the Olympique de Marseille 5-1 defeat. However, according to L’Équipe, the Belgian defender will start today in his third appearance since the fight.
