According to L’Équipe, Clermont Foot will look to bring Munashe Garananga (23) from Sheriff Tiraspol before the end of deadline day.

The Zimbabwean with one international cap to his name will be a signing with the future in mind, as Clermont will plan to send Garananga immediately on loan to the Belgian league.

Clermont would like to send the defender out to KV Mechelen who are currently eighth in the Belgian Pro league to improve his development before attempting to integrate the central defender into the first-team squad the following season.

Clermont remain active in the transfer market

The French side have been active on deadline day as they finalise their squad for a difficult end to the season. The club managed to avoid relegation last season, but currently sit in an automatic relegation spot.

Les Lanciers have temporarily strengthened in defence by securing the loan deal for Chrislain Matsima (21) from AS Monaco until the end of the season, as the under-21s centre-back looks to find some more consistent game time ahead of the Olympic games this summer, where he hopes to join up with Thierry Henry’s Espoirs.
