Sacha Tavolieri is reporting that Clermont Foot striker Grejohn Kyei has completed his medical ahead of a move to Standard Liege. The Belgian side are currently in a uncertain situation regarding who will own the club next season, with the 777 Group reportedly trying to sell the club. However, they have continued to pursue transfer targets ahead of the 2024/2025 Pro League campaign.
28-year-old Kyei scored just twice in 26 games for Clermont Foot during the Ligue 1 season. The former Servette striker did have an option for an extra year in his current deal, but it appears he will be moving on and crossing the border to join Standard. Kyei had a stronger season for the French club last year when he scored 10 goals in 37 games in the league. His best season to date saw him score 12 goals in the 2020/2021 Swiss Super League season with Servette. He has also played for Lens and Stade Reims.
