Simone Inzaghi has implored the Inter Milan to “clear their minds” and “move on” after their loss to AC Milan this week.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Corriere della Sera, via FCInterNews. They relay the Nerazzurri coach’s message after the derby humiliation.

Inter Milan did not just lose to AC Milan in the derby on Wednesday evening.

The Nerazzurri suffered an emphatic defeat, by a scoreline of 0-3.

If Inter had made up some ground in the derby with 1-1 draws in the previous couple editions, on Wednesday Milan got their biggest win in the fixture yet this season.

A loss in the derby is always going to come as a major psychological blow for Inter Milan. Particularly by such a clear scoreline.

Then, Inter have to reckon with the fact that they will not be fighting for the Treble this season.

An opportunity for the Nerazzurri to take silverware has vanished.

And this is not a psychological stumbling block that Inter can afford. They still have a gruelling five matches to go in the Serie A title race with Napoli – and a Champions League semifinal against Barcelona.

Therefore, Inzaghi has given the squad a clear message: Let it go.

The Inter coach wants the players to free their minds from the frustration of Wednesday’s defeat. Only in doing so can they hope to bounce back in upcoming matches against Roma and Barcelona.
