Roma manager Claudio Ranieri spoke to DAZN in the days leading up to the Derby della Capitale with Lazio.

“My last derby? I’m living it in a normal way, it will never be a game like the others, there is so much at stake. I know it’s an important game for us.”

“We need a lot of attention and determination because Lazio and Baroni are doing well. No one gave them credit and yet so far they have honored the season with points and a good gameplan. It will be a difficult match for both.”

“Now there is the final straight, then we will draw conclusions. I can already say that it has been an overwhelming season for our fans, we want to get to the summer knowing that we have given our all.”

“The first leg, like the games that followed, was important. Every game, regardless of the result, must be put behind you. If you lose and get discouraged, it’s wrong. It’s essential to think about one game at a time. Now there’s the derby and we have to give our all for our fans.”

“Pellegrini? I often talk to him. Lorenzo is one of the strongest Italian midfielders, this year things are not going well for him. He often expects a foul in his favor, but half-contacts are no longer called. He must get into this frame of mind.”

“Shomurodov? Eldor is important, I didn’t want to send him away in November. Everyone loves him, I didn’t send him away, he’s always available and he sacrifices himself for the team. He may miss a few goals but he’s positive for the team.”

“My retirement? I won’t miss anything because I still coach, I love this team and I try to give my all. From June onwards I will miss going on the field but there is an end to everything. I just have to be happy with what I have done.”
