Roma manager Claudio Ranieri spoke to Sky Sport shortly before kick-off at the Castellani for Empoli-Roma.

“Our positive run in recent weeks? I have erased it from my mind. I always want to do better,” he said.

“Thursday night we spent a lot of energy, especially on the mental level,” he continued.

“But we have an incredible group of guys, even those who play less are always available.”

“My philosophy is to give my best. You try to do your best in every competition.”

“Tonight we will have to fight. They will want to win, they will be aggressive. We will be ready to respond blow for blow,” he said.
