Despite Salford being a city based in Greater Manchester, we have never faced Salford City at any level or competition before.
Our last FA Cup appearance was in the final of the competition in May 2024, where we fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat against Manchester United at Wembley Stadium.
In league terms, we overcame West Ham United 4-1 last weekend, as an own goal, brace by Erling Haaland and a Phil Foden strike helped us to the points.
As for Salford City, they made history as they reached the third round for the first time after beating Cheltenham Town 2-0.
