Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Rodri and Ruben Dias have all been named in the 2024 Best FIFA World Men’s XI.
The City trio were all recognised for their stellar performances across the course of the past 12 months from an initial list of 77 nominees to make the prestigious eleven selected players.
Fans were able to cast their votes for their top performers alongside the views of a panel of experts with the combined votes then finalising the Best FIFA World Men’s 11.
For Rodri, his inclusion in the Best FIFA Men’s World 11, caps what has been a year full of outstanding individual accolades.
The Spanish holding midfielder was crowned the 2024 Ballon d’or winner in October whilst last week, Rodri was also named in the FIFPRO World XI.
The 28-year-old also further cemented his standing and stature within the game thanks to a series of yet more outstanding displays which helped guide City to an unprecedented fourth straight Premier League title in May.
He featured 50 times for City across all competitions in 2023/24 as City made yet more history by becoming the first men’s team to achieve that notable feat in the history of English football.
Rodri’s influence and impact was also evident on the international stage. He was named Best Player at Euro 2024 with his defensive midfield masterclasses helping Spain be crowned European champions in Germany.
Norwegian striker Haaland meanwhile maintained his blistering form in front of goal to devastating effect for City across the course of the year.
The 23-year-old earned his second Premier League Golden Boot in just two seasons at the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign, hitting 27 league goals and 38 across all competitions.
Those goals proved a major factor in City lifting a historic fourth successive Premier League title – with Pep Guardiola’s side in the process became the first men’s team to achieve that feat in the history of English football.
Across the course of the year, Haaland also reached a century of City goals in just 105 appearances, becoming the 19th player to reach three figures for the Club.
Haaland also finished in fifth place in this year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony and last week was also named in the 2024 FIFPRO World XI to cap another year to remember.
Dias’ inclusion in the Best FIFA Men’s 11 also sets the seal on another hugely impressive calendar year for the Portuguese defender.
The centre half proved a tower of strength once more at the heart of the City back line en route to that fourth straight Premier League crown, clocking up 30 league appearances and further cementing his position as one of the key leaders in Guardiola’s squad.
Dias also made the top 25 in the Ballon d’Or rankings to further illustrate his quality and standing within the global game.
Everyone at Manchester City sends their congratulations to Rodri, Erling and Ruben on their latest accolades.
