Manchester City’s charity, City in the Community (CITC) is excited to announce the launch of ‘The Big Game’, a new 24-hour, five-a-side tournament at the City Football Academy (CFA).

‘The Big Game’, will see 24 teams of ten players play five-a-side matches against each other for a full 24 hours, testing their endurance in aid of the charity.

The tournament will be fuelled by club partner, Gatorade.

Of the 24 teams taking part, 12 will be playing under the name ‘Team Williams’, and the other 12 will compete for ‘Team Onuoha’.

The highest scoring team will be the champions, with more specific individual team awards handed out at the close of the tournament.

Each team of ten players will compete with rolling substitutions for each match.

The ‘Big Game’ will kick-off at 6pm on 21 June until 6pm on 22 June at the CFA, on the same indoor pitch which often plays host to all professionals at Manchester City Football Club.

All participating teams will receive the following:

• A medal and certificate for taking part.

• Entry into competitions to win fantastic prizes!

• Acknowledgements in the match day programme at the beginning of the 2024/25 season.

• Food and drink throughout the 24-hours.

• Gatorade supplied products.

The winning teams will receive:•   12 teams that competed on the winning team of either ‘Team Williams’ or ‘Team Onuoha’ will be entered into a competition to win an exciting experience for their team.

In addition, each team will be asked to fundraise a minimum of £500 for the charity.

All profits raised from the event will go towards supporting Manchester City’s charity.
