City In The Community host successful Blues on the Green event
Manchester City Official
City in the Community played host to another successful annual ‘Blues on the Green’ golf day earlier this month.
Club supporters, partners, staff and friends of the Foundation came together at Mottram Hall Golf Club on Thursday, September 16 to help raise funds for CITC’s City Thrive campaign.
Fifteen teams made their way around the stunning course, before enjoying food and drink, along with the opportunity to further support CITC through auctions and ‘Beat the Pro’ challenges.
Ex-Manchester City player Paul Dickov is a regular attendant at the popular event.
He said: “I am so lucky to be involved in City in the Community and being part of the work, they do.
“I’ve seen first-hand what they do in Manchester, as well as abroad too when I have travelled. They make a difference to so many people’s lives, not just children but families too.”
Congratulations must go to Preferred Tubes who walked away with the winners trophy!
Michael Geary, Head of City in the Community added: “Today has been brilliant, the rain stayed away, the course was magnificent, and it was great to see everyone again, enjoying themselves.
“I’d like to thank everybody who has come down to support the event and put their teams in. It is incredible to see everyone be such a support to this important programme.”
Every penny raised from the day will support CITC’s City Thrive programme, which aims to promote positive mental health for young people aged 14-25.
A dedicated team has developed a new mental health curriculum, combining specially adapted football sessions with one-to-one mentoring and group workshops on mental health awareness, to improve mental wellbeing.
Jason El-Kaleh, CITC Mental Health Officer said: “It is amazing to see so many people come down and support the new City Thrive programme.
"We have worked so hard on creating a curriculum that helps provide mental health awareness for young people, and it is phenomenal to see so many people support it!”
Everyone at City in the Community would like to express our gratitude to all ‘Blues on the Green’ supporters and partners.
