We continue our look ahead to the Australian pre-season tour with our head-to-head record against Leicester City…

Gareth Taylor’s side will meet the Foxes on 28 August at HBF Park in  Perth in the first match of our visit Down Under.

We’ll be revealing how you can watch that game – which could be the first opportunity to see our summer signings Vivianne Miedema and Risa Shimizu – at a later date.

In anticipation of the match, here’s our record so far against the Foxes…

City 5-0 Leicester

Conti Cup, September 2019

City brushed aside the Foxes in the first meeting between the teams.

Played at the Academy Stadium, Nick Cushing’s side went ahead through a Caroline Weir goal on 28 minutes.

A Pauline Bremer brace, another for Weir and a Tessa Wullaert goal completed the rout.

Leicester 1-2 City

FA Cup, September 2020

The second meeting between the two sides was in a FA Cup quarter-final during the pandemic.

Played behind closed doors, goals from Chloe Kelly and Georgia Stanway just before the break proved decisive at the Farley Way Stadium, with Charlotte Devlin’s goal on 78 minutes no more than a consolation for the hosts.

FA Cup, September 2021

Another FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester.

The Foxes would have been delighted to go in at the break 0-0, but it was the calm before the storm.

The Blues would score six time after the break in what was our first game against Leicester with Gareth Taylor as boss.

Bunny Shaw struck a hat-trick and there were further goals from Vickie Losada, Alex Greenwood and Filippa Angeldahl in a second-half blitz by Taylor’s side.

Leicester 1-4 City

WSL, November 2021

City recovered from going a goal down inside the first minute to record a comfortable away win at the King Power Stadium.

Jessica Sigsworth gave the hosts the perfect start, but  goals from Weir and Kiera Walsh before the break put the Blues 2-1 up.

Further goals from Lauren Hemp and Laura Coombs completed the victory in the East Midlands.

Leicester 0-5 City

League Cup, January 2022

City wrapped up this Conti Cup group stage clash at the Pirelli Stadium within 47 minutes.

Ellen White opened the scoring on five minutes, with Hemp and Stanway adding a quickfire double to make it 3-0 with only 16 minutes played.

Hemp added another before half-time and Walsh scored just after the restart to complete the scoring.

City 4-0 Leicester

WSL, April 2022

Another comprehensive win for Taylor’s side.

City eased to three more WSL points with goals from Weir, Hemp and Julie Blakstad before half-time all-but sealing victory.

A further goal from Greenwood just past the hour made it 4-0 and continued our 100% record over the Foxes in all competitions.

City 4-0 Leicester

WSL, October 2022

The Blues had made a poor start to the season, losing to both Chelsea and Aston Villa in the opening two WSL fixtures.

It was a nervy City that led 1-0 through Shaw’s early strike until three goals in the last 18 minutes eased the home side to victory courtesy of Hemp, Shaw and Yui Hasegawa.

Leicester 0-1 City

League Cup, January 2023

Another group stage Conti Cup clash with the Foxes and another victory for City.

However, this was the Foxes’ best performance yet against the Blues, with only Angeldahl’s last-gasp winner on 90 minutes settling a hard fought win for Taylor’s side.

Leicester 0-2 City

WSL, February 2023

The Blues returned to the King Power Stadium but again were made to work hard for three vital WSL points.

Second-half goals from Shaw and Kelly settled the outcome in front of almost 3,000 fans.

Leicester 0-1 City

WSL, October 2023

City maintained their unbeaten start to the 2023/24 WSL season with a narrow win at the King Power Stadium.

England winger Kelly scored the only goal of the game on 10 minutes to earn the Blues victory against an ever-improving Foxes side.

City 2-2 Leicester*

League Cup, November 2023

An historic moment in this fixture as Leicester finally avoid defeat at the tenth time of asking.

Indeed, the Foxes led 2-0 at the break at the Academy Stadium, only to be pegged by Deyna Castellanos and Coombs which made it 2-2 and forced the game to go to a penalty shootout.

Leicester would triumph 4-3 on spot-kicks with City missing three of six attempts.

City 2-0 Leicester

WSL, February 2024

Normal service was resumed for the latest meeting between the sides at the Academy Stadium.

City went into the game with six WSL wins on the bounce and were strong favourites to continue our title push in this game.

But Leicester continued their year-on-year improvement and looked set to head home with a hard-fought 0-0 draw.

But late goals from Hemp (82) and Kelly (85) gave Taylor’s side three crucial points.
