City EDS to discover EFL Trophy opponents | OneFootball

Manchester City EDS will learn our EFL Trophy opponents when the draw is made for this year’s group stage on Thursday, 26 June.

City are one of 16 invited sides from the Premier League with Category One Academies that will join  Legue One and League Two clubs in the 2025/26 Vertu Trophy competition.

We will join the Northern Section of the draw where we will enter into one of eight groups featuring three other teams from League One or League Two.

In last season's competition, we exited at the group stage after a penalty shootout defeat at Chesterfield, a shootout victory at Grimsby and a defeat at League One Lincoln.

The draw for this season’s group stages will take place live on Sky Sports News on Thursday from 14:30 (UK).

Group stage matches will commence in early September, with dates and times to be confirmed after the EFL fixture calendar is released.
