Manchester City cruised to put six past West Ham and cut Manchester United’s lead atop the FAWSL to just three points.

City got off to a fast start, as Chloe Kelly scored two goals in a minute to fire the Blues into a quick lead.

Their celebrations were cut short however, as Emma Snerle cut the deficit in half for the Hammers, giving the Londoners a chance to claw their way back in at the break.

It was not to be however, as goals from Bunny Shaw and Steph Houghton before Lisa Evans and Mary Fowler added one more a piece put the game to bed and secured a vital three points for City in the top two of the FAWSL.

Daly double keeps Spurs in the mix

Scorers: Summanen 27′, 46, England 59′; Hanson 10′, Daly 20′, 84′

Aston Villa’s Rachel Daly scored twice to keep Tottenham firmly in the battle for WSL survival.

Kirsty Hanson scored an early opener for the visitors after being picked out Kenza Dali before firing into the roof of Spurs goalkeeper Becky Spencer’s net.

The FA Cup semi-finalist were soon further ahead when Rachel Daly side-footed home from Anna Patten’s far-post header across the face of goal.

But the hosts scored a reducer when Eveliina Summanen pounced on loose ball after Villa’s Hannah Hampton collided with Ashleigh Neville to slide into an empty net.

Summanen gave Vicky Jepson’s side a quickfire leveller after half-time by firing at the far post to beat Hampton via the crossbar.

Spurs’ comeback appeared to be complete when Beth England put them ahead from close range shortly before the hour mark.

However Daly continued her bid for the Golden Boot with a 15th goal of the season after heading home unmarked in the 84th minute.

Everton compound Royals’ relegation woes

Scorers: Vanhaevermaet (PEN) 2′,  17′; Bennison 41′, Snoeijs (PEN) 62′, Sørensen 83′

Reading’s WSL relegation fears were compounded in a 3-2 defeat to Everton.

Kelly Chambers’ side were gifted their ideal start in the second minute after Lucy Hope brought down Charlie Wellings.

Justine Vanhaevermaet wrongfooted Courtney Brosnan from the spot to give the Royals an early upper hand.

The Belgium international built on her and the hosts’ tally after Sanne Troelsgaard dispossessed Megan Finnegan in the visitors’ area.

But the Toffees reduced their deficit when Hanna Bennison converted captain Lucy Hope’s pullback to deliver a lifeline.

Brian Sørensen’s side soon pulled level as Katja Snoeijs converted a penalty after Jess Park was fouled.

Everton’s turnaround was completed just seven minutes from time as Nicoline Sørensen plundered the winner.

Reds halt Brighton’s resurgence

Scorers: Holland 54′, 70′; Terland 39′

Liverpool halted Brighton’s resurgence under Melissa Phillips with a second-half comeback.

Elisabeth Terland had handed the visitors a first-half lead with a 30-yard chip to beat a stranded Rachael Laws.

But Terland’s sixth goal in seven WSL outings was cancelled out by Ceri Holland’s dinked effort from Shanice van de Sanden’s cross into the box.

Holland put the Reds ahead at Prenton Park when she pounced on a misplaced pass by Emma Kullberg to turn the ball home from a tight angle.

Matt Beard’s side are now nine points clear of the relegation zone while the Seagulls sit two points safe of bottom spot.
