Manchester City have set a new record for consecutive Barclays Women’s Super League wins in a single season with a 5-0 triumph over West Ham United

Our sensational sequence of wins began with a 3-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford thanks to goals from Jill Roord, Lauren Hemp and Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw.

Wins over Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Everton saw City sign off for 2023 in style, before a 5-1 triumph over Liverpool and another win against Spurs to end January on a high.

A dramatic late three points against Leicester City followed, before a statement win at Chelsea, dealing Emma Hayes’ side their first defeat at Kingsmeadow in over three years.

And Taylor’s side’s march to the record concluded with further wins over Everton, Brighton, United, Liverpool and the Hammers.

City have found the net a remarkable 39 times during that period, conceding just eight times in the process while keeping four clean sheets.

We are now just two wins away from breaking the record for most consecutive WSL wins, with Arsenal’s tally of 14 between March and November 2022.
