Partnered with the Premier League, City Inspires aims to use the appeal of Manchester City to work with secondary school learners who are at risk of not reaching their potential, and to support them through the education system and early adulthood.

CITC coaches deliver a high-quality education curriculum that inspires pupils to succeed and excel academically, physically and socially.

The programme provides an opportunity for pupils to learn essential life skills, with a focus of improving their engagement in education, prosocial behaviours and mental well-being.

Neil Hughes, 11+ Education Officer said: “Being able to see the impact our PL Inspires program has had for our participants across Manchester has been an absolute privilege.”

“Participants are selected to work with our coaches due to a wide range of reasons such as low confidence, low engagement and due to have a negative outlook on their education”.

“The relationships that our coaches have been able to form with the participants has had an incredible impact. They are always focused on building a positive outlook for participants.”

“We have seen a monumental shift in participants attitudes towards their education since being on the programme which has seen increases in their attendance and an overall positive engagement within their school and wider communities.”

City Inspires is not limited to working with just mainstream secondary schools. For more information, email Jonathan.pauley@cityfootball.com.

The team currently delivers in a number of different high schools and Pupil Referral Centres throughout Greater Manchester.

Coaches are able to adapt their approach, the curriculum content and physical activity sessions in order to best meet the requirements of the school/group they are working with.

City in the Community, Manchester City’s charity, moves with city youth to empower healthier lives through football. To find out more visit, www.mancity.com/CITC or follow @citcmancity on social media.
