The club’s charity, City in the Community (CITC) is celebrating participant voices during its bespoke ‘Speak Week’ campaign.

CITC understands the importance of creating a culture of listening to our participants and hearing their voices.

The charity wants everybody who participates in their programmes to feel valued and be encouraged to #SpeakupSpeakout when they are involved in an activity.

CITC’s safeguarding manager, Deborah Glynn said: “CITC promotes a listening culture 52 weeks of the year across our provisions, and we actively listen, support and value their thoughts, feelings, views, and opinions. “

“Through our 'Speak week' campaign we are celebrating and championing the voices of all our participants and reminding them that we are here to listen and for them to speak up.”

In advance of the week, 1,003 participants shared their thoughts and opinions.

On average 97% of participants said that they feel safe when they are with CITC or attending a session, with 96% of participants feeling listened to by CITC.

Throughout the week, a number of activities are taking place, including asking participants to celebrate all of our stakeholders’ voices and encourage them to share their thoughts, to describe CITC and working with CITC in one word.

Keep an eye out across their social media channels from Monday, March 20  to keep up to date with all the speak week activities.
