Lazio’s Ciro Immobile was on top of his game yet again for the club in its Serie A fixture against Sassuolo. The Italian forward scored a crucial second-half goal that gave the Biancocelesti a 2-1 lead. The goal turned out to be the game-winner as Lazio held on for the narrow one-goal margin win.
Overall, Immobile is currently on an impressive goal-scoring streak. He has scored 17 goals in his last 18 appearances in all competitions.
Immobile’s current goal-scoring run began during Lazio’s home UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Borussia Dortmund. This was a contest in which he chipped in for a goal and an assist. Since then, Immobile has scored key goals in league and Champions League play along the way with some of them being game-winners.
One could make a strong case that Immobile is currently the top center-forward in the league right now. The Lazio star simply continues to add to his goal tally over the ongoing campaign.
