Celtic midfielder Ciaran Dickson has been backed to deal with the pressure of crossing the Old Firm divide.
Having been released by Rangers in the summer, the 19-year-old made the rare decision of swapping Parkhead for Ibrox when he signed with the Bhoys.
And Dickson showed a glimpse of what Rangers decided to let go of when he struck from long distance in Celtic B’s 3-1 defeat to Greenock Morton in SPFL Trust Trophy on Saturday.
Speaking after the game, Celtic B manager Tommy McIntyre described what he expects Dickson to bring to the club.
“He’s got the personality to handle the move,” McIntyre claimed.
“I don’t want to go too much on Ciaran but there have been players in the past on either side who have done that.
“Ciaran made an impact but we need to be careful with him. He’s just come in and I thought he did well. He will get better and better.”
Dickson’s only taste of first-team action for the Gers came as a second-half sub in a 4-0 win over Falkirk in the Scottish League Cup last November.
