Christopher Nkunku has joined the Rossoneri. A 1997-born Frenchman, he can operate both as a lone striker or in behind an out-and-out number 9. An internationally renowned star, he can bring creativity, goals, and personality to an attack that needs an uplift. He comes to Milano at the peak of his powers, with plenty of European experience under his belt, as well as a desire to make an impact under Allegri.

Born in Lagny-sur-Marne on 14 November 1997, Nkunku developed at Paris Saint-Germain and is a graduate of the Clairfontaine academy. Naturally right-footed, he is quick off the mark and lethal in the final third. A France international since 2022, he has already made a number of caps for Les Bleus and scored once, so he can perform on the big stage.

He has had a meteoric rise: from early titles with PSG to his move to RB Leipzig, where he became the star up front. He won two DFB-Pokal titles in Germany and scored with great consistency at club level. In 2023, he linked up with Chelsea in the Premier League. He brought plenty of flair to West London and, alongside Cole Palmer, raised the technical bar for the Blues. It is a career path that will have given him plenty of experience and a winning mentality.

The numbers speak for themselves. He scored 70 goals in 172 games for RB Leipzig and won some individual accolades to boot: Bundesliga Player of the Year in 2021/22 and the Torjägerkanone (for the highest goalscorer in the division) in 2022/23. He got more minutes against in two seasons in London: 18 in 62 matches. The stats should give you an idea of what he can bring to Milan.

So, what type of player is Christopher Nkunku? An explosive dribbler, direct and a natural finisher. He is very effective at operating between the lines and loves to occupy the half-space on the left and time his runs into the box. In an offensive system at AC Milan, he could provide the perfect link between midfield and attack. However, he is perfectly able to become the Rossoneri's finisher, given his lethality in front of goal. His versatility could prove an effective solution.

Career highlights include four assists in a 5-0 drubbing of Schalke while at RBL and a Champions League hat-trick against Manchester City. He ended the 2024/25 campaign with 15 goals and five assists in 48 games for the Blues. His celebration with a balloon, which he blows up as a dedication to his son, became his trademark at RB Leipzig. He then took it to London, and now, it's Milan's turn.
