L’Équipe are reporting that Christophe Galtier is set to remain manager of Paris Saint-Germain, at least until the end of the current season.

Galtier is preparing to take charge of Les Parisiens beyond this season, even if no guarantees have been given by the hierarchy. His job security has been weakened by recent results, as well as PSG’s exit from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich.

RMC first reported in February that Galtier’s position was under threat, whilst Foot Mercato have since added that Luís Campos’ continuation at PSG was also doubtful. However, if PSG are to part ways with Galtier, they won’t do so before the end of the season, unless their position as league leaders comes under threat. Marseille’s draw against Montpellier on Friday evening means that Les Parisiens can extend their lead at the top to nine points.

PSG don’t want to replace Galtier just for the sake of replacing him. The QSI ownership doesn’t want to rush matters, whilst the Manchester United deal is also occupying many people in Doha. PSG will only sack Galtier if the right candidate is available and wants to take the reigns at the club. Galtier’s long-term future at PSG remains in doubt, but in the short term, his position seems safe.
