Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier has six matches under his belt with the capital club. The French tactician has five wins and one draw while the offense clicks to kick off the 2022-23 Ligue 1 season.

However, for French football pundits, the production isn’t the most impressive aspect of what Galtier has done in his short stint with PSG. The manager’s man management has stood out considering the stars on the team.

On Saturday, Galtier’s squad management was in effect when the French tactician opted to have Neymar Jr. on the bench against FC Nantes.

“What is positive is Galtier’s management,” Bixente Lizarazu said on Téléfoot. “He hasn’t made any mistakes. He manages egos well. Putting Neymar on the bench is a good thing because he was in the thick of it. You have to rest because he is physically fragile.”

Galtier opting to have Neymar on the bench also limited the 30-year-old’s exposure to picking up an injury as he came into the game as a substitute.

Additionally, the 56-year-old had his eyes on the matchup against Juventus on Tuesday since the UEFA Champions League is where Galtier and the rest of the team will be judged by many.
