Christophe Dugarry claims Paul Pogba is 'ideal' for Real Madrid | OneFootball

Christophe Dugarry has urged former France team-mate Zinedine Zidane to bring Paul Pogba to Real Madrid.

“We can all see that Real Madrid’s squad is getting on a bit,” Dugarry told French radio station RMC (via AS).

“It’s a team that has trouble getting forward, breaking the defensive lines and having people getting into the box behind the strikers to get on the end of crosses.

“Pogba can do that. He is a lad who scores goals. For me, he is the ideal player to give Real Madrid what they are lacking.”

Zidane is known to admire the 27-year-old midfielder, but there have been questions over whether Los Blancos have the financial wherewithal to afford the former Juventus man.

Indeed, there were reports in France yesterday that the Serie A side were on the “verge” of resigning their former player from Manchester United.

But Dugarry is insistent that Zidane should follow his gut instincts in regards to Pogba.

“He’s had a difficult year because he’s had a lot of injuries and his team haven’t been performing well, but whenever he has been able to play he has got back to his best level quickly.

“Knowing Zizou, if he was in love with Pogba a year ago there is no reason that would have changed.”

Dugarry, who played for Barcelona and AC Milan during his distinguished career, was part of the France squad that won the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championship.
