AFC Bournemouth will want to get back to winning ways tomorrow evening as they take on relegation battlers Peterborough United at the Vitality Stadium, with anything other than three points unacceptable in this tie.

Losing at Deepdale last weekend courtesy of a late Emil Riis goal, the Cherries won’t exactly be full of confidence going into this tie, but redemption will be on the menu following a disappointing 0-0 draw in the reverse fixture back in the latter stages of September.

That game will give Grant McCann’s side real belief as they make the trip down to the south coast, as well as the fact Scott Parker’s men lost at the Vitality Stadium to non-league outfit Boreham Wood not so long ago.

The automatic promotion favourites certainly have no shortage of depth at their disposal though with the likes of deadline day signings Freddie Woodman and Siriki Dembele available as options off the bench if needed.

It remains to be seen whether Dembele gets a chance to start against his former side this midweek but regardless of that, there are likely to be at least one or two changes for the hosts.

With this, we have picked the lineup Parker may go with ahead of this tie, with three points crucial in getting themselves back on track after last Saturday’s loss.

As mentioned, Woodman is available as an option to come in if needed. But Mark Travers has done nothing wrong to warrant being dropped and after filling in admirably in Asmir Begovic’s absence for much of the season, he should be rewarded with another start.

One change comes in the backline with Ethan Laird replacing Adam Smith, who was sent off along with Parker late on in Lancashire and will serve a suspension because of that. With over 20 minutes of football in his legs from the weekend, that should hopefully be enough for Laird to put in a decent performance. Remaining fit will be key for him though.

Other than that, it’s business as usual with Nat Phillips and Lloyd Kelly arguably one of the best defensive partnerships in the second tier, a duo that could easily ply their trade in the Premier League if asked to.

Jordan Zemura didn’t exactly put in a performance he would be proud of last time out, but for his attacking threat going forward against an inferior side, he should be given a chance to make amends and make a real difference offensively.

Lewis Cook is the man who takes his spot in a deep midfield role, providing protection for the likes of Philip Billing and Todd Cantwell, both of whom could be integral in securing a comfortable win.

Not only will the latter two be crucial tomorrow night – but also for the rest of the season considering their attacking threat and their presence will help to take the burden off Dominic Solanke to provide goals.

One other change is made in the wide area with Ryan Christie coming back in for Jaidon Anthony. The latter’s performance against the Lilywhites wasn’t the best and with Christie returning from injury and gaining senior minutes at the weekend, the ex-Celtic man may be ready in time to start.

Jamal Lowe retains his starting spot though alongside Dominic Solanke, who is likely to have at least one or two good opportunities to get himself on the scoresheet.
