Christian Pulisic says he plays without fear at Chelsea, unlike in his Borussia Dortmund days.

Pulisic made his debut for Dortmund as a 17-year-old and became one of the hottest prospects in European football during his time in Germany, as well as the star of the United States national team.

But the 21-year-old’s form suffered after it was announced in January 2019 that he would be joining Chelsea the following summer, and his first few months at Stamford Bridge weren’t all plain sailing either.

However, having now adapted to Premier League football, he feels we are beginning to see the best of him again, and he’s enjoying himself more too.

“In Dortmund, I almost felt like I wasn’t my full self there at times,” Pulisic told Philadelphia Union II.

“I was kind of letting the pressure got to me and I expected myself to perform at such a high level.

“And that’s what I’ve been really happy with since I’ve been at Chelsea, I told myself, ‘Go play the way you know how to play, go dribble, take people on, and don’t be scared of anything!’

“In the end, it’s about me, my coaches and teammates, what anyone else says really doesn’t bother me anymore.”

Pulisic has notched up six goals and six assists for Chelsea so far and after being sidelined with an adductor injury in January, he is expected to be fit to play when the Premier League eventually returns to action.
