Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to sign Christian Eriksen, according to report.

The Denmark international is believed to have offers on the table not just from United but Brentford, where he spent the second half of last season.

I am surprised more clubs aren’t in the running for his signature because a player of Eriksen’s caliber is rarely available on a free transfer.

Eriksen’s former club Tottenham Hotspur are no longer in the running for his signature.

It could be too good of an opportunity to turn down for new manager Erik ten Hag.

According to The Mirror, United are willing to give the 30-year-old a two-year deal worth £150,000-a-week, however Eriksen is waiting to see who else United sign this summer.

Eriksen would warm to the idea of moving to Old Trafford if United can secure the signings of Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia, as per the report, but is he really barking orders despite not being registered at the club? I’m not sure about that but it is at least feesable to believe that players want assurances that the team will be competition next season.

But it doesn’t add up when you compare that to staying at Brentford.

Eriksen has everyone waiting…
